Regional Transportation Coordinator

Each Regional Coordination Council (RCC) for community transportation in New Hampshire is responsible for identifying and overseeing a Regional Transportation Coordinator (RTC). The RTC acts as a broker for community transportation services.

Currently, various human service agencies and volunteer groups provided rides to community members based on their target audience (some serve only seniors; others give rides to people with disabilities; while still others cater to subgroups such as cancer patients). This system results in duplication and uncoordinated service, as well as confusion among the public. An RTC would have a central call center that all customers would call to request rides, and then arrange trips through the network of providers.

In the Central New Hampshire region, CNHRPC is working with partners to establish an RCC. Once the RCC convenes, it will begin the process of identifying a Regional Transportation Coordinator.
