The Town of Henniker is undertaking the revision of its Master Plan. A survey was distributed to all Town residents and non-resident property owners last Fall. The results of the survey can be seen here. A Master Plan is an advisory document that guides the Planning Board in the performance of its duties and is intended to show as fully as possible and practical the Planning Board's recommendations for the desirable development within the Town. A master plan is necessary before a zoning ordinance may be adopted. See the NH Statutes Related to the Preparation of the Master Plan. Specific Sections to be included in the Master Plan include:
The Planning Board has decided that they will review and conditionally approve each Chapter of the Master Plan. In the Fall of 2002, a one-day workshop will be held to have the public review and comment on the Chapters. Once this has taken place, the Planning Board will review the Chapters once more before finally approving them.
